When Aunty Beeb, (BBC) aims to set out a new global visual language for its digital services, you'd be wise to sit up and listen to what they have to say, (even if you don't agree).
The very interesting design journey, come philosophy makes great reading for anyone interested in digital design. With bold statements (like below) accompanied by a nine point manifesto, you can't help but feel encouraged by the energy, enthusiasm and skill required to tackle such a monster of an organisation, so intrenched with internal politics.
"We set out to broaden our ambitions; to create a design philosophy and world-class design standards that all designers across the business could adhere to. We wanted to find the soul of the BBC. We wanted something distinctive and recognisable; we wanted drama. We knew whatever we created needed to be truly cross-platform and that we needed to simplify our user journeys."
