AntiVJ: Light Projections
This impressive audio-visual performance is entitled “Songdo” and was created by the guys at Anti VJ, a European label for the work of visual artists who specialise in the of projected light. This particular piece was displayed in August 2009 in the under construction city of New Songdo, in South Korea and commissioned by the Nabi Art Center of Seoul.
Their work seems to focus on altering perspective of physical buildings and spaces through 3D digital projection and holographic illusion. Using video mapping techniques, features of the particular physical form can be highlighted, shadowed and visually manipulated with striking affect. A buildings surface can be instantly transformed and rebuilt before your eyes, providing the audience with a challenging and visually loaded experience.
Anti VJ is a collective, with this piece comprised of the work of Yannick Jacquet (Legoman), Joanie Lemercier, Olivier Ratsi and Romain Tard. More of their work can be viewed on their website at http://www.antivj.com and on their blog at http://blog.antivj.com/
