Back from the Edinburgh Fringe

Theatre being one of my top passions, I was delighted to pop up to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe last weekend.

Here's my pick:

East
Berkoff's cockney shakespearean masterpiece is given the given the grotesque silent-movie treatment beautifully by Durham University's Castle Theatre Company.

Robin Ince - Bleeding-Heart Liberal
If intellegent comedy is your thing, you'll love Robin Ince. If you've never seen him before check out some of his youTube moments. Some advice though, if you find yourself drinking with him afterwards, as I did, don't try any of your own puns on him, as I did. Just because you're sitting next to a comedian, doesn't turn you into one!

Ginger and Black (left)
There're called Ginger and Black because ...
Brilliant dead-pan comedy music storytelling duo. Have a look at some of their vids.

And one to avoid:

Crave
One of my all-time faviourite plays, it's a testiment to Sarah Kane that I could sit through 1hr 20mins of ICU Dramsoc's terrible version. Avoid seeing this at all costs but by all means, read the play.
