Google's new OS
Yesterday, Google announced the Google Chrome Operating System and with it they're attempting to re-think what operating systems should be.
According to the Google blog, the new open source system will essentially be the Chrome Browser with a new windowing system built on top a Linux kernel. Meaning it will be built on an always-on web connection and all apps that run on it will be web-based.
We've often joked in the office that our approach to developing the They.Publish CMS is like we're building a web OS of our own and other obvious comparisons can be drawn with the likes of the pretty cool eyeOS.
I've never been a real Google fan-boy but as a pround owner of an Andriod phone and now this news, I'm starting to get over my Google-o-phobia.
