Keds, The Whitney & Bloomingdales

To celebrate a summer of art, Keds has teamed up with The Whitney Museum of American Art and artist Jenny Holzer to create a limited edition range of trainers. Holzer, who has earned her name largely for her projections of pertinent phrases in public spaces has created a range featuring one of her signature statements 'Protect me from what I want'. This collaboration will be followed by designs by artists Laura Owens and Sarah Crowner in September.

To further strengthen its alliance with the arts, Keds has enlisted the help of three up-and-coming fine art students to create live art installation in the windows of New York-based Bloomingdale's stores. Customers can 'check in' to the store windows on Foursquare and the mayor of the storefronts will ultimately win tickets to the Whitney Live resented by Keds is the summer concert series with bands including Tanlines, DJ/Rupture and Toro Y Moi. Keds is also sponsoring the Whtiney Museum's summer series featuring the exhibit Christian Marclay: Festival.

On location at the Bloomingdale's stores, Keds has installed touch screen interfaces where customers can customise their own pair of trainers. The campaign was created by Night Agency, New York.
