Smirnoff - Nightlife Exchange

Diageo-owned Smirnoff has extended its popular 'Be There' experiential campaign - featuring sponsored parties and events - with a campaign to share the dance culture of major cities across the globe.

The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project allows Facebook users to get involved using a Smirnoff app and suggest their ideas for themes that best represent their home country. Users can make suggestions across the fashion, food, music and more for their country's crate, with the most popular idea for each location revealed on October 22.

The winning idea will then be transported to one of the 14 participating cities for party-goers to sample a taste of another scene. Events will be held on November 27 in the UK, USA, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Ireland, Lebanon, Poland, South Africa, Thailand and Venezuela.

Each event will be curated in association with a local tastemaker, in the UK BBC Radio One presenter Zane Lowe has been given the task and DJ and fashion aficionado Dan Single will head up the Australian party.

While the campaign incorporates Facebook at its heart, it also includes a global partnership with MTV (who will drive the collaboration through webisodes and news segments hosted on the MTV site), a blogger affiliate program, a mobile channel Smirnoff.mobi, local PR drives and a traditional approach featuring TVCs. The TVCs will be cut together incorporating uploaded clips of users describing their ideal party.

By submitting their ideas, users go into the draw to gain tickets to the events. From September 14 users can also register to go in the draw for a chance to win VIP tickets to the destination of their country's box for the unveiling and party.
